Sakonnet Coastal Bike & Stroll 2026

Neighbors brought helmets, walking shoes and a sense of adventure for two miles of traffic-free coastal views along the Sakonnet shoreline.

Event Route & Schedule

The car-free route covered Park Ave (east of Mason Ave), Point Rd, Hummock Point Rd, Hummocks Ave through the Anthony Rd railroad overpass and the separated bike lane on the Sakonnet River Bridge.

The event ran 9:00am to 12:00pm. Road closures began at 8:30am and police details ran until 12:30pm.

Appointed by the Town Council, BPAC works to enhance the safety and accessibility of Portsmouth's streets and sidewalks. Their mission's focused on creating safe, equitable travel for everyone walking, rolling or riding in town through infrastructure improvements, community engagement and local advocacy.
